I love snapping photos, running to a beat, college football, and bonfires with friends. I love magazines and I couldn't live without music. Sometimes I wish I could live in two places at once: The West Coast and my home state Colorado. I could have the beach and the mountains, especially Red Rocks amphitheater, my favorite place in the world.

Animal House 2008

The classic film Animal House was filmed on the University of Oregon campus in 1978. Naturally, the film triggered the toga party fad. Thirty years later, these students took a new spin on Animal House and hosted a house of animal creatures. (Eugene, OR)

A New Slant on Rap Music

U of O duck Brian McAndrew just came out with a pop/rock/rap CD titled Sad Songz R Easy. They Wear Their Sunglasses At Night

According to Ebay factoids, in the United States someone loses, breaks or sits on a pair of sunglasses every 14 minutes. When you have a shades theme party, the rate probably goes up quite a bit. These U of O students wont be able to do sport the shades into the winter months, so why not have a party to celebrate? And even wear them at night. (Eugene, Oregon)

Janis Joplin and Friends

It's true that legends never die. This Janis look-a-like didn't miss a note singing "Piece of My Heart" at Eugene's Saturday Market this weekend with those classic raspy vocals. The Saturday Market is a hodgepodge of food, shopping and entertainment with a bohemian, tree-hugging, laid back and natural vibe. (Eugene Saturday Market, 7th and High St.)

They're playing tunes and fighting to Free Darfur. Despite the chaos of the Olympic Trials, these free spirits find some peace on the other corners of campus. (13th Street.)

Olympians Recycle Too

Eugene residents and Olympic Track Trial participants were encouraged to donate old shoes to Nike's Reuse-A-Shoe program. The company will use the old shoe parts to create sports and play surfaces, such as youth basketball and tennis courts. The Eugene 08 Festival sported brimming shoe barrels at every corner. (Hayward Field.)

The Posterboys have been rocking the town with a funky mix of reggae and rock, one house party at a time. Lead singer David Streckert, bass guitarist Forest Gallien and drummer Martin "Tino" Lindenmeyer recently had their first gig at WOW Hall in April. (Eugene, Oregon)

... and enjoy some final moments with friends.

Not kidding about a lot of extra chairs.

Family photo shoots are every which way.

The streets are filled with caps and gowns floating toward the festivities.

Families can purchase flowers for the grads at one of many flower stands on campus.

This senior dances along to the band at Senior Send Off. He's planning on working for U of O's physical education department after graduating.

Senior Elena Pressprich tries on her cap a few days early. "Now that I have to leave I realize how much I like this place," she says.

Campus was filled this week with parents, grandparents, friends and alumni. It was also filled with signs, balloons, and a lot of extra chairs. University of Oregon seniors graduated on Friday, June 13th. Congrats grads! (U of O campus)
