Reality TV On Campus: "The Paper" At NYU

Reality TV On Campus: "The Paper" At NYU

In addition to all the campus clutter, students may have to deal with former reality tv "stars" sucking the "True Life" out of your supposed campus reality. For NYU students, there is a new frosh with the heavy wind tunnel of reality tv trailing right behind her.

Amanda Lorber, the editor-in-cheif of The Circuit, on MTV's reality series "The Paper" is due to become a freshman next fall at New York University.

The Washington Square News, NYU's campus paper, reports on Amanda's aspirations and expectations as she gears up for attending NYU for the fall semester.

Lorber claims that she does not want to be recognized for her "MTV" produced fame:

"I'm ready," she said. "I'm a little nervous now because the show has come out, and I kind of don't want to be recognized. I want to have a fresh start, and I want to be kind of a normal student, not a girl that was on an MTV reality show."

From the look of the NYU interview, Lorber seems to have a healthy grip on her "fame" and she even takes a pot shot at "A Shot of Love with Tila Tequila.":

"Yeah, I could either be on '[A Shot at Love with] Tila Tequila' or be Tila Tequila, both of which would be terrible."

My sentiments exactly Amanda!

The following is a transcript of the conversation occurring immediately after hearing this cum-dumpster was applying to nyu:

Kyle: She get in?
Ross: Yeah.
Kyle: ****! I hope she gets an std.
Ross: Yeah. [pause] Me too.
