Honestly, I have to say I’ve never even noticed Tina Fey’s scar until I started reading about it this month. As seen in the picture, it’s on her cheek and actually pretty severe when you stop and look at it. Maybe I just thought it was a wrinkle? Fey never talks about it, but she and her husband recently opened up about the scar in an interview with Vanity Fair:
Says Richmond: "That scar was fascinating to me. This is somebody who, no matter what it was, has gone through something. And I think it really informs the way she thinks about her life."
Fey says talking about the attack would seem like exploiting it.
Says Fey: "It's really almost like I'm able to forget about it, until I was on-camera, and it became a thing of `Oh, I guess we should use this side' or whatever. Everybody's got a better side."
The attack she’s referring to there is an incident where she was in her front yard when she was five years old, a stranger walked up, slashed her the face, and walked away. Um, what? Not exactly mystery solved is it? The harrowing event scarred Fey both physically and emotionally, and no one can really blame her for not wanting to talk about it.
