Video: Hurricane Ike Slams Turks and Caicos, Sets Sights On The U.S.

Here we go again.

Yet another dangerous hurricane may yet again be heading towards Louisiana. And Hurricane Ike is no joke.

Check out the video above (with creepy music and all!) to see the damage Ike has caused in the Turks and Caicos. That’s a storm that’s not messing around. Right now Cuba is on the receiving end of Ike’s 100-mph winds, but the U.S. may soon be feeling its own beat down. While Florida students can most likely breathe a sigh of relief, a map of the projected path has the storm heading anywhere from New Orleans to Galveston, Texas.

So LSU, Tulane and Texas A&M students, don’t get too comfy at school. Before you know it, you may be packing up and shipping out to higher, drier land.

Hmm, has anyone studied the effectiveness of textbooks as an alternative for sandbagging? With all this storming, that might be the most action those textbooks see all semester.

As bad as it is, the situation in Provo does not approach the damage on Grand Turk, the capital of Turks and Caicos. I wonder if the millionaire tourists who frequent the other islands (already open for business, again) will chip in a few bucks for the thousands of citizens of Grand Turk and South Caicos who lost everything they owned.
