HOT NORTHWESTERN GRAD: CLORIS LEACHMAN
Cloris Leachman is old, but she has more spitfire than a squirrel, and can talk dirty with the best of them. Last night on Comedy Central, she appeared on the Comedy Central Bob Saget roast and stole the show with a hurricane of self-deprecation, audience target practice, and of course, Bob Saget jokes.
She began the roast by obliquely addressing Saget’s longtime slot on Full House, saying:
“I am not here to roast Bob Saget; I’m here to **** John Stamos. You heard me pretty boy! I’m gonna strap on my Oscar and take you right there in that filthy bean bag chair.”
She then addressed Saget’s irrelevance in today’s entertainment world:
“For the love of God, will someone punch me in the face so I can see some stars?... Who cares about Bob Saget? I was giving reach-arounds to Jack Benny before you were even born—and that man had timing!”
Leachman majored in drama at Northwestern University and began appearing on television and in films in 1946. She has been breaking hearts and bringing out the punchlines since them.
