How Many Applications For The Class Of 2012?

One an interesting note, another blogger from here computer a measure "College popularity: number of applications per enrollee". It is supposed to capture college popularity better than the conventional yield rate. Here is what the list with number from IPEDS for 2007 looks like:

The reasoning behind this being a better measure than the yield is that the yield is affected by too many other factors such as competition, ED games, special interests such as religion, finances, and so on. Yield results in very weird ranking.
Based on yield, Brigham Young, Yeshiva, Thomas Aquinas, Principia, Texas A&M, VMI are among the top 20 schools in the country.

Good luck getting data from the Admissions Office at Ohio Wesleyan. In my opinion that office is the school's "weakest link"...any change when the new president gets there regarding raising the academic profile should start with replacing most of that office with young, savvy and smart personnel.
