Well, it was quite the slaughter down at Boston's TD Banknorth Garden tonight. If you missed it, the Celtics capped their nearly flawless season by winning their 17th NBA Championship in a thrilling (and well, blow-out) 131-92 victory over the Los Angeles Lakers.

Kevin Garnett is finally getting a ring...

After 10 years, Paul Pierce (MVP!) is getting the recognition he deserved...

And more than anything... green is finally gold again in Boston.

Expect another banner to be raised to the Garden's rafters. Expect a city-wide parade Thursday morning at 11 a.m. Expect to watch your step tomorrow when walking to the T.

There's something about these championships though...

They're not getting old yet.

In 1988, I visited Boston and saw the Larry Bird lead Celtics lose a game at the old famed "original" garden after they had a 30 point lead with 19 minutes left!! Since 1987, the Lakers have been a far better team than the SMELTICS. The Lakers have won 5 titles and went to the finals 9 times while you made NO finals appearances or even got close to winning anything!! You only made the conference finals twice(in '88 and in '02).
