Fourth of July includes two very important ingredients – a big barbeque bash and fireworks. But as all college students know, there’s one component to barbeques that make them that much sweeter and that’s beer. So for all you Beerfest fans out there, dust off the Solo cups and here are 10 ideas for the perfect way to celebrate this great nation’s independence - Beer Olympics.
- Beerpong/Beruit – I’ll leave the name of game up to you guys to figure out but Beerpong is a traditional staple to all college parties so why not start off Beer Olympics with a fan-favorite?
2. Flip Cup – Here’s one for the ladies! It’s true that girls seem to conquer this game with relative ease so to keep the competition fair and let the girls take the gold on this one.
3. Shotgun Race - This game is meant to separate the weak from the strong, the men from the boys and it also determines who will dominate the entire competition.
4. Kings - A hearty game of Kings helps friends loosen up as they succumb to the power of the little green man and the busta rhyme rule.
5. Friend-a-palooza - This is the perfect excuse to have an Old School-esque tribute to a friend who's recently had his heart mashed up. A lot like Mitch-a-palooza, some Quinnipiac kids had a similar party for a fallen friend. After sending out Facebook invites to everyone they knew and making t-shirts, Phil-a-palooza was the most widely talked about party of the year and needless to say - the shortest party of the year having been broken up about an hour after it started.
6. Seven, Eleven or Doubles - All you need for this game is a set of dice and a little help from Lady Luck.
7. Baseball - this game brings together the great American pastime with the American drink of choice. Guaranteed good times here!
8. Quarters – Put that loose change to good use and instead of adding it to your 50 States Quarter collection, use those quarters to bounce off shot glasses and bring you a step closer to victory.
9. Never Have I Ever - Yes, even this childhood game has switched over to the dark side. This game works on a basis of three strikes - whoever is the first to fess up to their deepest darkest secrets, is the first to drink.
10. And leaving the best for last... the Das Boot Chug -This one's for the diehard Beerfest enthusiasts and certainly not for the faint of heart as the Das Boot is typically a whopping 68 ounces of beer.
