Tomorrow at The Space in Hamden, the touring Elephant 6 reunion show is coming to Connecticut. Elephant 6 is a collective of musicians which has included Beulah, of Montreal, Neutral Milk Hotel, The Olivia Tremor Control, Apples in Stereo, and many others. According to the venue's site, the show in Hamden will include
Julian Koster (The Music Tapes/Neutral Milk Hotel), Scott Spillane (Neutral Milk Hotel), William Cullen Hart (Olivia Tremor Control), Scott Spillane (The Gerbils), Laura Carter (Elf Power), Eric Harris (Olivia Trempr Control/Circulatory System), Nesey Gallons and many more will join together as a traveling variety show this October. Julian describes the evenings as "a big orchestra, variety show, silly happy thing." The large gathering of Elephant 6 members will be playing the music of The Music Tapes, Circulatory System, Scott Spillane, Gerbils, Elf Power, Olivia Tremor Control, Nana Grizol, Nesey Gallons and more...
Also of interest is the fact that Jeff Magnum, lead of Neutral Milk Hotel and usual recluse, has already come out for one show, that in NYC, and may come out for more, especially one so close to where he lives. Those who attend the show at The Space have about a good as a chance of anyone in the past 10 years of hearing Magnum perform NMH material. It's a slight chance, yes, but one that no one should pass up.
