Granger Library and the DDR pads hidden in the basement of the Union might get a little lonely with the new neighbor coming to town. Yahoo! is set to open a CU office for the purpose of tapping the engineering talent U of I has to offer.

The office, which will be responsible for some of the Web giant's operations and business interests, will employ about 100 engineers, according to Kevin Timmons, Yahoo!'s vice president of operations.

Expect to see a much cooler and more useful Google office going in across the street.
