Two days ago, a story surfaced that Anne Hathaway loved anal sex, saying that "every woman should try it, otherwise they miss out on something amazing," as well as a number of other things that we don't need to discuss. She also allegedly said that felt all women should do it.

Uhm...what?

Besides that fact that the statement was TMI, it was a really strange thing to say during a magazine interview, especially for a young female star. That, and it's just so weird for a magazine to include a statement that odd in their publication, that everyone (including commenters) looked at this story and called how false it was.

Still, even though the tip that they had was from a small celebrity blog that cited her source as "Miss M. at Esquire", even though their own readers were crying "fake!", and even though Anne Hathaway has stayed very quiet about her relationships in the past, the gossip bloggers still ate it up faster than you can say "no sources", and spread the story everywhere, getting the buzz going and raising the hopes of men everywhere.

Seems like it's coming back to bite them in the ass. No pun intended.

NOW the bloggers are coming out and saying that the story is not even remotely true, and the people Esquire have said that they don't even have an interview with Hathaway on their calendar. Many blogs are passing the buck and blame to other blogs for their faulty reporting. Hathaway hasn't come out with a statement yet, but I wouldn't be surprised if it's on the way. This kind of rumor is nothing to scoff at.

So sorry, boys. I know many of you seemed to be expressing great excitement that perhaps your girlfriend would take the sage advice of Ms. Hathaway. Looks like you'll be getting another cold shoulder tonight.
